The Single Author
Renovation is rarely failed by a tradesperson. It is failed by the silences between them — the morning the joiner arrives to a wall that has not yet been re-plastered, the afternoon a bathroom is tiled before the second-fix electrics are sealed. The Haus exists to abolish those silences. Stonemasons, joiners, plasterers, electricians, heating engineers and decorators report to a single project director, draw on a single schedule, and answer to a single standard.
Our portfolio sits among the period homes of Edinburgh's New Town, the sandstone tenements of Glasgow's West End, the Georgian townhouses of Stirling, and the cottages of the Forth Valley. We restore where restoration is owed, and we modernise where modernity will outlast fashion.
The Five Pillars
N° I
Removing internal walls, opening floors, inserting steel — we deliver the open-plan living of contemporary design within the unforgiving compliance of Scottish building standards. Engineers' calculations, warrants, and inspections are carried by us.
N° II
Lime plaster repointing, hand-cleaned stonework, the rescue of original cornicing thought lost beneath a century of paint. Our heritage team works to Historic Environment Scotland conservation principles — quietly, and with reverence.
N° III
Our in-house workshop produces fitted libraries, dressing rooms, kitchens and staircases bespoke to the architecture that receives them. No flat-pack. No compromise on the timber, the joint, or the hand that finished it.
N° IV
The standard the eye remembers. Hand-skimmed plaster, brush-laid emulsion, hung wallpaper aligned to the millimetre, and the kind of stone and tile-work that turns a bathroom into a private spa.

Air-source heat pumps, mechanical ventilation, high-performance glazing, and the breathable insulation strategies that allow a 19th-century stone wall to meet the comfort and carbon expectations of 2026.
